Welcome Welcome to the second edition of The Chattanooga Charm Gazette! In this little e-zine, we'll bring you up to date news about what's new at Chattanooga-Charm.com as well as awesome events and attractions in around the Scenic City! Please accept my apology for this issue being soooooo late! It is supposed to be a semi-monthly publication, not a quarterly one, but... Let's just let this be water under the bridge and please, just sit back and enjoy The Chattanooga Charm Gazette! President Bush Visits Chattanooga! OK, so Chattanooga is far from being the largest cities in the U.S., but we hold our own. In fact, occasionally we have a "big shot" (no pun intended regarding the "shot") dignitary pass by our way. And that's what happened earlier this year here in the Scenic City! The President of the United States himself decided to pay little ole Chattanooga a visit. On the day he arrived, they were already shutting down the roads along his route as early as 8am even though he did not arrive until hours later. President Bush spent much of his time here at Erlanger Medical Center as the hospital execs. showed off their facility and their innovations in health care. There was plenty of meeting and greeting going on of course, but in the end... The President didn't dare leave "the real south" without getting a taste of one of our staple foods, Barbeque! Yes, the good folks over at one of the local bbq restaurants got a visit from the Prez! Wow! New Exhibit - Chattanooga Tennessee Aquarium Gets Ready To Unveil Penguins' Rock! Check out the newest edition to the Chattanooga Aquarium - Penguins' Rock Why Stay in a Hotel When You Can Stay In A Mansion? OK seriously, whether you are traveling to Chattanooga and you are in the mood for a nice change of pace in your lodging choice or you are just used to sitting in the lap of luxury and will not settle for anything less than the best, then I know the place for you... My wife and I recently celebrated our 14th anniversary, yep count 'em, 14 years...and we wanted to stay somewhere that would enhance the extremely special air of our momentous occasion, so we stayed at the Mayor's Mansion Inn! The Mayor's Mansion is an awesome 19th century home at the pinnacle of Chattanooga's Fort Wood Historic District that National Geographic Traveler Magazine called "one of the best inns in the South"! And quite frankly I agree! Read more about the mansion and our stay by clicking here: The Mayor's Mansion Chattanooga Bed and Breakfast Inn Chattanooga on Stage Performances - The Vaudeville Cafe On our anniversary stay at the Mayor's Mansion as mentioned above, my wife and I also discovered a great little gem in Chattanooga that we had never tried, the Vaudeville Cafe! If you've never tried the Vaudeville, you really should check it out, but only if you're ready to laugh you're buns off, have a lot of fun, and eat some good Italian food! Check out our full article on the Vaudeville Cafe Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre! It's Rafting Time in Tennessee! That's right, spring is in full swing and summer is on its heals! It's time to go Ocoee whitewater rafting! I hope you have enjoyed The Chattanooga Charm Gazette!
