A Café That Takes the Cake

There are many secrets that have plagued mankind throughout the ages...the location of the ark, who shot JFK, why do you not see Michael Jackson and Latoya Jackson in the same place at the same time, etc. One of the best kept secrets is right here in Chattanooga and it is called City Café.

I guess the first thing that draws you in are those immortal words, "Open 24 Hours". There are very few places in the state of Tennessee where you can get a four star quality meal especially at 3 in the morning.

When you go, I suggest the following entrées...

The sausage and peppers will make you feel like you are in little Italy with a sauce that makes you feel like someone has died to keep it a secret.

The combo stir fry is another meal that will leave you full and send you home with a to-go box big enough to snack on the next day.

Hold your horses though because the best comes after the meal. It is the main reason to go to City Café in the first place, the cakes!!

A slice will run you about six bucks and you will have to run six miles to get rid of it. Every flavor is there, from chocolate suicide to Coca-Cola cake and the servings are so large that you fear the to-go box might just give like a lottery winner at tax time.
