Romantic Chattanooga Art District

Look no further than the Chattanooga art district for your romantic getaway in Chattanooga.

Better known as the Bluff View Art District, this area of Chattanooga was an unknown treasure to me until recent weeks.

Although I had been to the Hunter Museum of American Art on a childhood field trip, I didn't realize what a real gem this area was in our great scenic city!

What Makes It So Special?

Well, lots of things really. Let's start with the ambiance.

The Bluff View Art District resembles a quaint little European town located on a scenic bluff over the Tennessee River.

There is still plenty of southern charm there however due to scenes such as the Martin House, one of 3 houses that make up the Bluff View Inn Bed and Breakfast.

But the European/Mediterranean feel of the Chattanooga Art District is inescapable.

Not only that, but there is interesting art everywhere on that little hill, and I do mean everywhere. From the architecture and decor to the open outdoor and indoor art exhibits, everything is creative and artistic.

Hey, even the phone booths in the Chattanooga Art District are works of art.

Ahhh The Romance

A few weeks ago, I decided to take my wife on a little afternoon date.

Where would we go for a change of pace?

The Bluff View Art District of course!

We had eaten a late breakfast that morning, so we didn't go out for lunch. But we thought it would be a nice afternoon for a cappuccino and a pastry, so we went to Rembrandt's, a little cafe in the district.

We both had an Irish Cream Cappuccino (our favorite). We both enjoyed their delectable pastries that they make on site. They have such a selection, it really is hard to choose.

We sat and talked while we enjoyed our snack amidst the sound of Rembrandt's lovely garden fountain on their patio garden. The atmosphere really was great for a charming little date.

From there we walked through the Bluff View Art District to the beautiful outdoor art exhibits on the east side.

Then we strolled back up the hill and over past the Hunter Museum of American Art, enjoying the various exhibits on our way.
