Chattanooga Attractions Contribute Greatly to Her Southern Charm!

Share your favorite Chattanooga attractions with us!

To try and number the attractions around here would get really exhausting in a hurry.

There is so much to see and do in the scenic city that you just about have to move here to take it all in.

A day trip here tends to leave me with the feeling I had when I was just a boy. We would go somewhere fun and exciting. Then before I knew it the day was over. It was time to go home.

Planning Ahead for Chattanooga Tennessee Attractions

To get the most out of traveling to Chattanooga, you really should plan ahead as much as possible.

  • Try to pick out your "must see" Chattanooga attractions for early in the day where possible and appropriate (some sights are only appropriate for evenings).

  • It is also a good idea to determine the amount of time you wish to spend at each attraction as closely as possible to make the day go smoother.

  • Relax. There's no need to feel stressed if the day doesn't go as planned. Some of the greatest adventures happen spontaneously!

List of Chattanooga Attractions (Ever Growing)

  • Rock City Gardens
Rock City Gardens is probably the most famous of all Chattanooga attractions.

How many "See Rock City" barns have you seen in your lifetime?

  • Chattanooga Tennessee Aquarium
Of the attractions in Chattanooga Tennessee, one of the most recently updated is the Chattanooga Aquarium, or Tennessee Aquarium as it is properly named. The Aquarium now boasts two large exhibit buildings.

The River Journey occupies the main building that opened in 1992 and the new Ocean Journey is housed in the building adjacent to Market Street.

  • Vaudeville Cafe Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre
Of the Chattanooga attractions I've been to, this is certainly one of the funniest!

The Vaudeville Cafe is better experienced than told, but you can learn more by clicking the link above!

  • Southern Belle Riverboat
For a nice ride on the Tennessee River and lunch or dinner/entertainment, go for a ride on the Southern Belle!

  • Ruby Falls
Ruby Falls is a very unique Chattanooga attraction located deep inside the heart of Lookout Mountain!

The beautiful waterfall and strange natural rock formations are a hit with many locals and tourists alike.

  • Bluff View Art District
The Bluff View Art District is an awesome attraction because it embodies all that is art!

Read about one of my Chattanooga Art District experiences here.

  • Creative Discovery Museum
One of the most interactive attractions in Chattanooga Tennessee for kids and parents to experience together is the Creative Discovery Museum.

The museum does a great job of creating an exciting and fun learning environment that stimulates learning in the areas of arts and sciences. The kids will thank you for this trip!

  • IMAX Theater
Just down a couple of blocks from the Discovery Museum toward the Chattanooga Aquarium, you'll find the IMAX Theater. A variety of awesome 3-D films are shown year round.

  • The Incline Railway Famed as "America's Most Amazing Mile", the Chattanooga incline railway is one attraction that really reflects Chattanooga's historical charm well. It also gives you a breathtaking view of the city and surrounding area that you'll never forget!

  • Chattanooga Amusement Theme Parks
OK, this is one of the Chattanooga attractions that is not actually within the Chattanooga city limits, but it is just across the state line in Rossville, Georgia.

The Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park has been around for 80 years now and certainly enhances the charm of the Chattanooga area!

  • Bell South Park
A great Chattanooga attraction for baseball fans is Bell South Park.

It's the new stadium home of the Chattanooga Lookouts minor league baseball team. Check the schedule and catch a game while you're in town!

  • Chattanooga Ducks
Want to tour the Ross' Landing area of the Tennessee River and learn about Maclellan Island in a truly unique way?

Then you need to take a tour with the Chattanooga Ducks! They are definitely a unique attraction in Chattanooga!

  • The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum
One of the best Chattanooga attractions for train lovers and railroad or history enthusiasts is found in the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. The museum has two stations on opposite sides of town where you can ride the rails, tour static display rail cars and engines, or simply buy some great railroad souvenirs.
