China House

by Alan Pitchford
(Chattanooga, TN)

The China House restaurant is located in Chattanooga on East Brainerd Rd, 1/4 mile past the Gunbarrel Road intersection on the left (same building as Food Lion shopping center).

  • The service is amazing - very polite and quick!

  • The food is delicious (best Chinese food I've found anywhere) and you get a lot for a low price ($7-8 per plate).

I eat a lot when we're there, and I usually have a lot leftover - sometimes my wife and I just split a plate. It's an outstanding deal to both eat such a great meal for $7-8 total plus drinks.

For a dinner combination plate, you spend $7-8 for your dish served with lots of fried or steamed rice, Chinese doritos (ha ha), choice of soup (love the chicken corn soup), and choice of appetizer (love the chicken wings).

My only complaint is that the sweet tea wasn't very good the one time we tried it. It might have just been a one-time miss. I usually try to save money and be healthy by getting water anyway.

Basically, if you like Chinese, you'll love China House. If you're not a big Chinese fan (I didn't used to be), you still need to give it a shot - just get the Honey Chicken or something basic... it's so good!
