How Did a Web Design Novice Achieve a High Web Site Ranking So Fast?

A high web site ranking is not as hard to achieve as most people think. Well, it’s not always a piece of cake either, but it is often much simpler than most "internet pros" would have you believe.

Intro to a Novice

My name is Chris Long. I am a simple family man. Not an internet pro, not a marketing guru, just an ordinary guy with an ordinary family, and an extraordinary dream.

Back in 2003, as a young man who knew that it was possible to make a good living on the internet, but also knowing the statistics that said that most people who set out to build a successful business on the internet fail...I set out to find the answer.

I tried various money making clubs and schemes that promise instant riches, and as you can probably guess, I too failed miserably.

All the while, in the back of my mind rang the old truth that "anything that looks too good to be true, usually is." I just wanted to make a good living for my family while doing something that I loved to do, but building a site that would get a high web site ranking still seemed out of reach to me.

High Web Site Ranking - Could This Be It?

Then in 2004 I came across a site that promoted a product called Site Build It! that promised to show the average person how to build a successful online business step by step all while providing all of the necessary tools to build and maintain the business.

I remember thinking, "Yeah, right! I’ve heard this kind of thing before." Yet something in their claims just seemed to ring truer than the usual internet marketing guru garbage I had read before.

I just felt like with Site Build It's help, I too could really achieve high web site rankings.

Prove 'em Wrong

I had a little extra cash on hand at the time, which was unusual for me, so I thought, "Why not! They’ve got a great money back guarantee. So, I’ll just hit 'em up for a refund when it doesn’t work and then I’ll know for sure."

So, I bought my first Site Build It! package and dove into the material.

I have to admit that even reading the instructions was a pleasant surprise. It all made so much sense.

But, somehow, I stayed the course until I began to see that first trickle of free search engine traffic...

Then I was hooked. And boy am I glad I got hooked, because the traffic just grew and grew from there. I began to see high web site rankings for numerous pages under numerous search terms in various search engines.

Fast Forward to Today

June 5, 2006

I have since sold my first successful Site Build It! site and moved on to work on my second site (the one you see here) which is doing much better than my first one, much faster. I guess that is because of all of the lessons I learned while building the first site.

Chattanooga-Charm.com is just under a year old now and is within the top 1% of all 56 million + web sites on the internet today (based on user traffic) according to Alexa.com (an Amazon company that ranks web sites based on their traffic.

In fact, I was recently honored by having Chattanooga-Charm.com placed on the results.sitesell.com site. A sort of "who’s who of SBI! sites".

And best of all, I am making money. I can’t retire...not yet anyway, but I am making a good supplement to my income, and with the help of some soon to be released improvements to Site Build It!, I will be rolling nicely in the dough and loving what I do.
