Who Is Home Schooling In Chattanooga?

Hey, who isn't home schooling in Chattanooga and the surrounding area?

Just kidding. Lots of people aren't, but more and more are homeschooling in and around Chattanooga, Tennessee!

In fact, my wife and I happen to home school our children and have since they have been school age. Our eldest is now 16!

We actually live just a few miles south of Chattanooga in Rossville, Georgia and we, like many homeschool families, were members of a local home school association, but, sadly, it disbanded. Georgia state law doesn't require that we join an association or homeschool group, but we participated for years because we received valuable support and our kids got increased variety in their education. They also had the opportunity to build long lasting relationships with their peers and develop greater interaction skills with adults as well.

In fact, the children in our group were able to take classes that they may not normally get in their regular schooling at home. Over the years, some of these classes included Botany, Public Speaking, Home Economics, Biblical World View, Literature, Art, Physical Education, Biology Lab, Biblical Manhood, Geography, Spanish, Drama, and several other subjects.
