As I grew up in the small north Georgia towns just south of the Tennessee border, I never really noticed anything special about the scenic city to my immediate north...

But I was just a kid then. I had no real concept of charm or every person's secret desire for it. I didn't know what a real gem my home town area was.

Now that I've grown up and have kids of my own though, I see it. I really see it! The Scenic City, as it's commonly called, is the most wonderful place that I know of in the southeastern United States!

Admittedly, awesome tourist attractions and downtown enhancements have played a large part in the expansion of Chattanooga Tennessee's charm. In fact, just this year (2005) the Tennessee Aquarium unveiled her most recent contribution to the scenic city's landscape not to mention her economy: Ocean Journey!

In fact our family paid this new edition a visit on the Fourth of July holiday!

Natural Beauty of Chattanooga Tennessee

Man made attractions aren't the half of it though. The scenic city boasts of unequaled natural beauty (hence the nickname). She is nestled on the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains and nature just oozes from her pores.

Seemingly endless hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and fishing holes dot the landscape. Because of this, the Scenic City has no shortage of parks, campgrounds, and activities for nature lovers.

Elegant Flair

But don't despair if you love shopping, fine dining, and a jam up time in the "big city". Or, maybe the Bluff View Art District and its sophisticated flare are more your speed. The entire area is full of all that and much more!

Southern Variety

Much of the Scenic City's charm is found in its diversity.

You may choose to stay in a luxury hotel or go the economy route. Go water skiing on Lake Chickamauga or take in the great civil war history at the Chickamauga Chattanooga National Military Park.

Maybe you prefer the charm of staying at a bed and breakfast lodge, a log cabin in the mountains, or even the Choo Choo Holiday Inn Hotel. You've come to the right place!
