Ocoee Whitewater Rafting Makes for a Great Day Trip Near Chattanooga!Submit your own Ocoee whitewater rafting videos, photos, and stories here! Ocoee river rafting was my first experience with any whitewater sport. On our first Ocoee rafting experience, we were invited to go with our church's youth group late in the year on a very crisp day. We thought we would freeze and the whole thing would be very unpleasant, but to the contrary, we were comfortable and had an awesome time! Our Ocoee River Rafting GuidesQuest Expeditions provided the Ocoee rafting guides for our group.
The Quest team was awesome as they provided all of the equipment we needed, including helmets, paddles, life jackets, oh, and lets not forget the rafts. Quest Expeditions also provided the us all of the education we needed to take our guided adventure down the river. Since this was my first Ocoee rafting experience, I know that I certainly appreciated the instruction and even a short practice rowing session in the loose gravel lot before we launched (to get the teamwork thing down pat). Upper Ocoee River Rafting EnvironmentThe Upper Ocoee rafting experience offers 5 miles class III and IV whitewater for you to enjoy. The Ocoee Whitewater rafting area of the Upper Ocoee is also home to the 1996 Olympic Whitewater Competition Course! Wow, what a rush to go through those serious rapids! The Olympic Course ends with a run through the most famous of Ocoee rafting's rapids, Humongous! Middle Ocoee RaftingA Middle Ocoee rafting is a great way for a novice rafter or someone who is unsure of whether they'll like rafting to begin.
It's the Ocoee river rafting trip that kindled our love for the sport! The Middle Ocoee also boasts 5 miles of continuous class III and IV rapids that provide loads of fun. You'll also be able to take in loads of mountain scenery as the Middle Ocoee rafting trip runs through a deep gorge in the beautiful Cherokee National Forest in southeast Tennessee. Further PlansOur Ocoee whitewater rafting experience was what we hope to be only a first of many whitewater journeys on the Ocoee River as well as many other rivers around the world. In fact, we had hoped to go with Quest Expeditions to a rafting trip to Costa Rica for our tenth wedding anniversary, but our plans got massively delayed by my health. But we are still holding on to those whitewater dreams in hopes that soon we'll be able to brave the rapids again! Book Your Ocoee Whitewater Rafting Trip Now!The expense of such an awesome trip is very reasonable. For instance, Quest Expeditions (the Ocoee rafting company we used), has prices listed between $28 and $46 for individuals... And $25 to $43 per person for groups of 10 or more. Exact prices depend on the day of the week and time of the year. These price ranges are also for Ocoee river rafting trips on either the Upper Ocoee or Lower Ocoee, not both. According to Quest Expeditions, the full, 10 mile Ocoee whitewater rafting trip ranges from $89 to $99 for individuals and $85 - $95 per person for groups of 10 or more. Again these prices depend on the time of year and day of the week. Saturday trips usually are in the higher end of the scale given.
