RETIRED

I have been a contributing Friends of The Library member for some years. I am in receipt of copies of two EDITORIALS; Breaking the library, 11/05/07 and Public library on the brink, 12/30/07.
Living in the Chattanooga Metropolitan area I have both needed and enjoyed the resources of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Bicentennial Library for years. I use their services continuously.
Seems to me that the County Commissioner's thinking is at a little farm town level. They apparently refuse to recognize the broader responsibilities of a dynamic metropolitan area.
We consider ourselves living in the Chattanooga area. We shop there, have doctors there, use the hospitals and last year we even vacationed there for four days and nights at a local motel and enjoyed eating at the many fine restaurants.
Maybe we need some "big city folk" to take over the County Commissioner's responsibilities.
