Better Performers
by: Anonymous

I remember being younger and could not hardly wait for Riverbend to begin. Every night was an awesome performer.

Now, for the past several years, are older performers, who have not sung or had a top 40 hit in over a decade.

What happened to getting top performers. I know you can't have a current act everynight but c'mon?

Now I do have 3 children. This is not a place I would bring my kids. Unless I want them seeing half dressed women, showing all there tatts, and a lot of adolescent power drinkers.

Food is Ok, but I could go to a nice dinner down the street at TGI Fridays and eat in the air condition, and at a table for the same amount as I could spend on buying all those tokens.

Just not worth it to me unless you can get a great headliner out there that would be worth fighting a crowd over to see.

But seriously, I would not fight a crowd and stand in 90degree temps to see these performers. What do you think??

Gripes and Opinions
by: Chris

I agree with much of what is said here, but let's face it, more and more people go to Riverbend each year.

Sure many do stop going, but many others more than fill their shoes.

As far as performers go, as I understand it, most of the the current "top performers" are cost prohibitive. I know to working folks like me, it may seem like festival organizers can afford the quarter, half, and even full million dollar performers, but the fact is, that is just not the case.

However, this year, I think the line up is pretty awesome!

I mean, you have top country sensations like Darious Rucker, who is also the former lead singer for Hootie and the Blowfish.

Then there is Alison Krauss and Union Station, Sheryl Crow...country sensation Billy Currington, who's awesome song, "That's How Country Boys Roll", is one of my personal favorites!

Then there is David Nail...the aged, but still great The Charlie Daniels Band, Drivin' N' Cryin', and more.

I know that everyone has their own opinion, but that is the point...

They are our opinions nonetheless, so hopefully the festival organizers listen to and balance the acts as best as they can to suit most of the fans' taste.
